This week we have an elegant Patek Philippe 4936R with a mother-of-pearl dial, along with three sporty Rolex sports watches of great historical and collectors' value that we are sure will satisfy the palates of the most discerning collectors.\n

The fascinating history of the Rolex Explorer originates with an epic event: the ascent of Mount Everest by the legendary Sir Edmund Hillary and his courageous Sherpa Tenzig Norgay, during which the first Rolex Explorer wristwatch was worn on the world's highest peak. This historic event took place in 1953 and marked the beginning of a new era for wristwatches.

\n The Rolex Explorer was conceived on the basis of the renowned Oyster 'Bubbleback' model. This choice was dictated by the robustness of the Oyster cases, which featured an extra protruding screw-down case back to accommodate the automatic movement. This model was identified as the reference 6150 and 6350, known for its distinctive 3-6-9 dial. Subsequently, the Reference 6610 came onto the scene shortly after the debut of the first two references. Featuring a fascinating galvanised dial, this model retained the famous 3-6-9 dial layout, with radium luminescent indices and hands. All enclosed in a solid 36 mm Oyster case with a screw-down case back, giving the Explorer extraordinary resistance and the ability to tackle any adventurous expedition.

The striking detail that makes this timepiece unique is the presence of a rare and unusual red depth indicator printed below the 'Explorer' signature on the dial. This particular detail adds a touch of exclusivity to an already extraordinary watch, making it a highly sought-after collector's piece for enthusiasts and collectors all over the world.\n\n\n

Rolex Submariner 6536\/1\n\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Back in 1955, the prestigious reference 6536\/1 made its entrance onto the collectors' watch scene. It took over the baton from reference 6536 and remained in production until 1959. Today, this reference is among the most coveted and sought-after in the world of vintage Submariner watches, thanks to its timeless design and extraordinary proportions.

\n\nThe present specimen is in an exceptional and outstanding state of preservation. The lugs are robust, with wide, sharp bevels, and the proportions retain their distinctive strength. The dial is equally impressive, with an intense gold print that has not faded at all. One detail that will not escape the expert eye is the extraordinary brightness of the indicator at 6 o'clock, which stands out from the other luminescent markers on the dial, a typical feature of Submariner dials of that era.

\n\nA small but extremely rare detail is hidden in the lower part of the dial: the depth indication is written in red. Usually, this reference features the depth indication with the units \"m\" and \"ft\" in gold. However, this red variant without units of measurement is extremely rare and is a real treat for collectors, adding further value to this extraordinary watch.\n\n\n

\n\nThe combination of an automatic movement and an annual calendar makes this watch extremely practical, requiring adjustment only once every four years. Available in white, yellow or pink gold, with a black or white mother-of-pearl dial, and water-resistant to 30 metres, this watch is tailor-made for dynamic and elegant women who do not want to compromise on style.\n\n\n\n

The first models of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona represent a milestone in the company's history and are today an object of desire and veneration among watch collectors. Among them, the reference 6240 stands out as one of the most significant and iconic models. First introduced in 1965, this watch marked a pivotal moment in the history of the Daytona by introducing water-resistant screw-down pushers for the first time, a feature that still distinguishes Daytona models in production today.

\n\nProduction of the 6240 was short, however, extending only until 1969, with an estimated output of only 1,700 examples. Affectionately nicknamed the 'Little Daytona' by enthusiasts, the current example features an interesting detail: a small 'DAYTONA' designation is positioned below 'COSMOGRAPH' at 12 o'clock. Also notable for this specific dial variant is the absence of the two sigma symbols next to the 'SWISS T' designation at 6 o'clock, a correct detail for this particular version.\n

\n\nThe watch is fitted with a black bezel insert, and the screw-down Mk1 pushers, together with a corrected Twinlock 700 crown, complete its distinctive design. The reference 6240 is thus an extraordinary testimony to the evolution and continued perfection of Rolex's Daytona chronograph watches, representing a fascinating chapter in the history of luxury watchmaking.\n\n
